RIP Whitney

On 12th Feb, the whole world was rocked by the news of the passing of Whitney Houston.

I join the whole world in agreeing that she has an awesome voice and a great singer. What amazing talent. But in the midst of it, part of me sad to know that at some point of her life, fortune and fame got the better of her in her head which nearly destroyed her career as a singer.

It's a lesson that we should manage our talents properly and with responsibility.

To re-quote Patrick Leong's FB status :--

"THERE CAN NEVER BE ANOTHER. The passing of Whitney Houston was unreal. Watching the coverage on CNN was simply a stunner, unbecoming of the fate of such an amazing individual that has captivated the millions around the world. Her VOICE taught me control and confidence over the years that helped me discover techniques and identity in my own vocal ability.
I never thought I'd see this fateful day for Ms. Houston. GOD gave her the talent as HE also gave those of us the ability to sing to our Calling. With that talent comes great responsibility and accountability for the benefit of oneself to discover and receive. The choices we make in life either enhances the talent or destroys it. We've often heard the saying 'there's only one life", likewise we only have one go at our talents.

Anyway, this post is to join everyone in the world to pay tribute to her, who inspire many singers out there.

Even though a lot of people will remember her for that song "I will always you", my favourite song from her would be this. Beautiful.

It's 2nd month of 2012..

FEBRUARY!

Well, as it has been documented, I was at KK from Sunday 5th Feb to Wednesday 8th Feb.

Recording was good. There is still room for me to improve and learn, I thank Jon Tse for good advice even though some of it really I have to take it in a pinch of salt. But it's all good in this learning curve.

Overall, recording this album is much better than previous in some areas. Even music-wise, all I can say the music is much mature, rock-ish, raw than previous. Can't wait everyone to hear it! I planned to go all out for this, been praying for more open doors and really need prayer for this too.

Anyway, backtrack a bit, 4th-5th Feb weekend, we had this special guest named Ruth Chai who came and shared about prophetic worship. Was good overall, I hope our church continue to open up in worship, I praying for breakthrough in our worship and spiritual life.

K, back to normal timeline, reach KL on Wednesday. Picked by Gavin and head straight to office for staff meeting. Boss say we can't have too much holiday, ya usually we day off on Wednesday but this week we had Monday and Tuesday off because of public holiday.

Meet-up makan with Silviana for Wednesday dinner at my favourite seapark nasi lemak.

Thursday was makan with cg at Williams.

After all makan, good workout or rather run out at futsal, scoring 2 goals..

10th FEB Friday -
It was Senior Citizen CNY party.

Was asked to sing some oldies classic songs. Guess what I sung? not so oldies you might argue...

"can't help falling in love with you" by Elvis, "what a wonderful world" by Louie Armstrong, "I had a dream" by ABBA and "Stand by me"

Other than that, we have Aunty Annie (as seen on pic) karoke-ing to some Theressa Teng song, Shuk Bing singing, and a Kadazan song belted out.

Picked darling from airport and by the time reach office, was headache, no thanks to heaty weather @@. O yea, rested at home then!

Uh ya.. that's my week so far...

As for now, my vocal recordings for the 2nd album is DONE!! yay!!!!

Now all is left is for my producer to do the final mix, add a bit more instruments, etc etc then yes, the real deal will be serve... =)

Seriously, can't wait for you all to be able to enjoy those new songs!

Really want to thank Jonathan Tse from my bottom of my heart for guiding me and mentoring me through the recording process. I appreciate everything very much =D

Alright, now to next phrase of post-production...

Pray for me, cheer for me. Will keep you all updated on the 2nd album process. Anyway, thanks for the support so far!

Blogging, reporting from Refuge Studio right now...

Arrived KK on a late Sunday evening around 730pm thanks to AirAsia delayed flight for 20mins. Had a nice dinner then check into the studio around 11pm plus. Spend the night listening all my songs on the album -- rough mix. All I gotta say, am excited to share that album soon with everyone.. it sounds different than the previous. Well, you will have your say when you get it but I promise it's rockier and more raw than previous -- think Lifehouse, Switchfoot, Goo goo dolls stuff.

Got to listen Jon's new live album as well..

Today, as in Monday, did 3 songs. All went well especially able to push my vocal in recording one tough song.. aiks!

Rest of the day was basically hanging out in KK...

More to say later! :D

Glad to share to EVERYONE that I will be heading back to Jonathan Tse's studio to finish up few more songs for 2nd album. YAY!!!

I admit I am nervous a bit, because I hoping the final product will be better than the first album materials, hoping everyone would love it very much. But alas, I am excited to prepare everything for the follow up to the 2nd.

Just some heads-up -- the songs are more rockier and have more 'mature' song than previous. Yes, lots of live drums, electric guitars, etc. Mature in a way that, well, I've written lots of songs after post-THIS ROAD period, which challenges me as a songwriter. Some songs are worship, but most of the songs are suitable to be played anywhere and to any ears. Well, the idea is that the songs speaks to everyone, not just to one particular crowd/people. Yea.. ambitious as I am, I hope the radio plays them :D

Been busy getting things done especially design, art direction and planning for the launch/tours as well..

So ya, it's gonna be crazy 2012.. but anyway, I am excited that I going release the 2nd one and waiting to share this joy with everyone once again.

I will try to update time to time from the studio if possible..

There was this BM revival meeting going on that night at FCC.

Overall, lots of people came but what didn't sit well with me was the guest speaker showed 10 videos on the night. That caused everyone to be restless.
For me, showing one video to show how Holy Spirit is good enough. But 10..?? A bit too much. I know I shouldn't be critical of preachers but in this case, I a bit question this preacher's method.

A simple weekend. But had 3 practices in a roll.. 2 of them have me leading worship, the other was just me taking care of sound which is for Chinese service. Nevertheless I enjoyed the practices.. it was fun.

At night, went to watch Liverpool v. MU in FA Cup. MU played and control well.. however, they lack the finish and lost focus halfway... which resulted the lost.
Well, some people hate some teams don't they? I saw lots of various 'immature' comments online.. some which made me thinking whether do they understand football first place.

Before that, a car hit my bumper. Wasn't a big deal, but what upsets me was he refuse to admit his mistake.. so what if you didn't put a dent, but you can't go around saying you not wrong.
So ya, what was a good day ruined by some immature people's thinking...

Before that, although I shared it few post ago, I prayed for something, God showed and it made me believe He is my provider.

3 services in a roll for me - quite quelling but that is part and parcel of the work I guess..

That same guest speaker whom I said on Friday preached again on BM service and again he did it -- show 10 videos. Seriously it annoys me.
No doubt the Holy Spirit was working.. yet.. I think some things we need to take into consideration. Again, 10 videos to show me how Holy Spirit can work and set people free? It's overdoing it.. one is enough, it's Holy Spirit that does the work. NOT videos!!
Okay.. i am over-critical but then, i gotta say what i think.. open for debates here anyway..

Went home rest, invited for futsal game at 8pm. Even though it was 1 hour, it was tiring.. because 11 of us -- meaning 6 v 5 -- played whole 1 hour, so that means all of us run around like mad.. some of us can't tahan.. anyway I scored 3 goals, am happy but not with my stamina.. I think I lost it! :(

Have to rush some errands.. yup, like I said in my previous post, my resolution is not to drag on some of the things I do..

Settled some bills which hits my wallet.. God, how to survive another 20 days plus like that. O well, this is where my faith is tested.. and trying to believe God will be my provision.

Nothing much.. at night went out yamcha.. went to the wrong place described by my friend Justine. Alas, I findout the right place.. some burger near USJ5.. not bad. Anyway, good time chatting and catching up.

1st Feb 2012

I wokeup at 4am to watch MU v. Stoke. Again, MU played well BUT finishing was off..
However, we won thanks to two penalties, not ideal way but it was MU's attacking that cause the Stoke defense running headless till they have to foul MU players... ya.. seriously...

What made the win sweeter was Everton beat Man City 1-0 to allow MU to go same point with Man City. What made THAT win more sweet was former MU player Darron Gibson scored the winning goal.. LOL.. such awesome co-incidence...

Thank God for day-off.. it was also FT holiday in KL although it doesn't concern me..
Slept till late morning, wanted to do morning jog, I wokeup at the wrong time... when I jog, the weather was too hot.. oops...

Spend whole day catching up on Clone Wars.. and watched a GLEE episode that pays tribute to Michael Jackson -- was a good episode compare to previous ones.
Night time, met up with Shirley whom I knew from my tour at UTAR Kampar. Had dinner and watched Underworld 4. It was better than 3rd movie - i rate it 6.5/10
Sometimes I wonder how much stories can these people tell.. -.-

Next week, will be at KK for recording and close to decide on my part-time studies.. ya.. i need prayer for these things...

My week has been quiet a bit.. not the KL traffic-wise...

But have time to re-think my life a bit...

Able to come out some 'CNY resolution' ...

1) Not to drag work/procrastinate

2) Make sure 2nd album do better than 1st

3) Discipline in work/time/money management.

Recently also, i have to plan my finances a bit, well, trusting Him for provision.

Anyway, looking forward to my trip to KK!

Sometimes I hate being a football fan...

Sometimes I hate posting my feelings whether MU lose or win...

When you are quiet, people say you chicken out.. when you make noise, people say you being too proud..

There are times I wondered those who talked so much on FB, Twitter, any social sites - criticize their 'unfavourite' team - even knows how to kick the ball.

There must be limit to those blathering comments.. I rather talk football to few friends than sometimes taking it out on cyberspace, which sometimes I regret, reading comments that sometimes I wonder if they really know what they are talking about.

Football is round. Anything can happen. Whether we are 'mature' to know it or not.

This morning I made a simple prayer before I left home. And as I entered the office, I received an angpau. I didn't know how significant is that packet until I open it... I couldn't believe my eyes honestly. If I know what was in it, I would thank that person endlessly..

It reflects Matthew 7:7-12. I was listening to this preacher last night at the BM revival meeting last night, he mentioned this verse and it struck me like a rhema word. It moved my heart to know that no matter who we are, as God's children, our Father loves us so much.

Lately, perhaps in quiet and slow pace life in CNY mood, I been reflecting my life a little. But Matthew 7 reminds me of God's love for me and everyone. All we need to do is to be ask, seek and knock on His door..... keep on pursuing His love.

What struck me again this verse was verse 9-11

⁹ “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? ¹⁰ Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? ¹¹ If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

My heart was touched this morning as I received from Him and reminded of His love again and again..

Lord, I will keep praying and seeking Your heart as You lead me on..

O how He loves us all =')

january journals 2012 - pt 5

Basically just gonna talk about my CNY week.. uh ya...

I left for Ipoh on Sunday after bi-lingual service. It was a blessing to journey on Sunday noon.. very smooth traffic, compared to the day before where I read on FB/Twitter that most of my Ipoh-bound friends stuck in jam for like 4-5 hours -- that's double the usual 2 hours journey.

New Year Eve dinner and EPL matches were the order for New Year's Eve night.

Who could forget the infamous Arsenal substitution that made the whole stadium booed Wenger? O well, MU win nevertheless!

CNY -- the usual tradition of visitation... and the start of non-stop food gobbling..

Visits includes relatives, distant relatives, SPC folks (mr and mrs Kelvin especially).

Night, was invited to experience the so-called new happening thing in Ipoh... laser tag!

It was fun.. played it on 1st day and 3rd day of CNY. But.. gee.. like small part of ang paus went to playing it already..

Talk about ang paus.. somehow I am happy with the collection this year. I kinda forget how much I have for the past previous years but somehow I am pleased what I received.. o well, perhaps believing God will bless. Hahaha.

I had a few plans for meet-up during this trip and all were successful. Very happy to meet some of these friends after some time.

There are times perhaps I wished we could turn back time to our young days but I guess life does go on. We only have memories of each other to cherish.

Gonna miss all of you that I meet. Hope life will turn out well for all of you. =D

Return to KL on Thursday morning. I left 6am and reach 8am plus.

Here's what was funny. I wanted to turn back home, knowing one exit was near my house, but my uncertainty got the better of me, made me turned into Shah Alam which was little out of the way. Knowing Shah Alam nearer to my office, went to office straight, reaching there like the usual time I reach. After 5minutes waiting, I got restless..because no one open the gate yet. I drove home to put down my things, washup... then drove back to office at around 930am. Yup, to an office which only have 4 person -- that is me and 3 BM staff.

At least got some simple things done, and we closed office before 4pm.. haha.. it was getting lonely as time passes... at least went home I got my 'delayed' rest.

A lot of people asked me why I want to go back to KL early and not take more leave. Mainly, honestly, I think the longer I stayed in Ipoh, I will get bored, I will get lazy -- which both feelings won't help me much. Rather sitting at home being an arse, I rather go back KL and try to get my working gear moving early. If not I will just procrastinate in lots of things.. seriously.. ya, even right now, I think I have been procrastinating in few things already..

2ndly, I can save more leaves dates for more things later on.. touring would be a lot to do this year, so ya..

But hey, traffic here is been smooth..... till this weekend is over! So enjoy the quietness while we can!

Came back early made me lonely a bit. Don't know why, perhaps missing some people.. don't know why there's sense of loneliness but I try to not let it affect me lots. Sometimes it's weird -- when you are with lots of people, you want to be lonely, but when you are lonely, you wish you have people.. gee.. the human in us...

People say the year really starts after CNY. Wait, how many times I said this already... but anyway, I slowly getting my busy mood kicking.. so many on the platter, starting Friday night's BM revival meeting at church.

So ya, onwards to February then..

It's been a quiet week... at the same time relaxing week..

Had a few meet-ups with some people .. uh.. it's ministry-wise actually instead of friends. Wanted to have friends meet-ups but everyone seems to leave KL early...

17th January
Tuesday night :- met this pastor at Life Sanctuary with Victor Lee. In a nutshell, we were invited to support their youth fellowship, hoping to revive it. Our meeting sometimes go off course because this pastor shared lots of things and problems. There are times I asking God and myself... why have I get myself into?? But I believe God has a plan for this.... perhaps I don't see it now...

Pray for us as we embark on this journey.. even though it's 1 year.. sounds/looks like a mission but hopefully we see some fruits someday..

18th January

Sad news... my darling's pet died under my care.. it took us sometime to get over it... =(

we know animals have short life span.. under such circumstance, it took us some time.

Noon, I met the DUMC worship pastor and we shared and encouraged one another in our worship ministry. I learned a lot from him. Was a good catch-up meeting.

A simple prayer meeting was held. Simple worship, with few people but God really moved..

19th January

I was asked by Dinry to accompany Bishop Vun to do his visa at the Nigeria embassy. We wasted 1 hour there due to their work incompetent

Had a nice nasi briyani for lunch!! hehehehe...

Night-time, good time at futsal, scored 3 goals... more than last week.. hehe.. nearly over-stretch my muscles...

20th January

It rained over the morning! A good change for in midst of humid weather recently..

But that caused me to catch morning sinus. I hate sinus... it ruined my working mood...

Lunch time, I met up with Neil from RELENT. A good chat and catchup... if everything works out well, we could do more things together.. perhaps co-writing songs.. haha.. will see ;)

One achievement I achieve is I ate and cook a lot at home this week itself. Trying creative ways how to cook my noodles and spaghetti.. hahaha... sometimes I amazed myself with what I done..

Lately I been playing Pokemon game. I trying not to be carried away by it..

Also, played this RISK : Fraction at FB.. seems nice... again... not be carried away..

Jam lately been weird.. i guess I have to learn to get used to it in next 1 week at least... facing jam is sometimes like playing a game of cat and mouse.. you try to run away from it but sometimes failed..

O well, we all looking forward to CNY break, don't we?

Although the hamster is not really mine, it's Mel's but I felt sad over her passing because she was under my care while Mel is back hometown.

I just don't want to speculate why and how she passed away. The only way to move on is not or even think about it anymore.

Buried it at my house's garden. Still sad about it.

Have nothing much to say but the main joy this week for me was the anticipation for my solo project.

Been meeting some creative people about the art direction of the album, we have long discussion and we share ideas. From there, we progress on and on... and hope the art direction this time around will be impacting and leave an impression on people.

Basically, they threw my original title away.. saying the title is just weird. HAHAHA. I don't blame them but at least they got the gist of it and came out with a better title..

Can't wait then. Really.

And just got a word about going a place for gig.. will see how.

Excited and pumped what God is doing.

Sunday I had few meetings in one go.. some are ministry matters, and glad to see God doing something in our lives.

Well, everyone's counting down to CNY.... how time flies....

Ho Ho Ho Thundercats!

For past few months, I was able to re-watch (or should I say re-lived) my childhood cartoon... Thundercats!!

Yes..I grew up watching that cartoon...one of the cartoons I always loved watching when I was a little kid.. my parents and aunty can testify to that...

And who can forgot THAT famous Thundercats war-cry...

"thunder-thunder-thundercats... HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!"

In a nutshell, it's a story of a feline-race who escaped their doomed world in search for a new world to live in. At the same time, they crossed path with some evil characters along the way especially Mumm-Ra, who spends nearly everyday thinking of ways to send this bunch of cats to extinction.

Finishing the season, sort of a relief for me. Some stories were good, some were forgettable.

The struggle between good and evil is classic, just that sometimes it gets too cliche and it's weird that Mumm-Ra everyday comes out with evil yet funny ways to destroy the cats... like disguising himself as various characters to trick them.

Most of all, I always find it amusing that each time Lion-O goes to battle, he always have to cry HOOOOOOOOOO.. just to act MAN-ly and brave.. ya, real old-skol fighting....

Overall, I am glad to finished watching it and feel satisfied to be able to re-lived the series.

I nearly thought a movie adaption for it is possible. In fact, I did read some articles about it and even saw some concept art for it. Sadly, it won't see the day of light (until in future perhaps, if someone bravely want the project) because they partly blame Speed Racer's failure in box office.

But for now, there's the new animated version which so far for me is doing very good and well. I enjoyed it very much, the drawing is superb although it is very anime. They have a solid story line so far for this version. And yes, this version is much different than the 1986 version..especially the part of escaping from their doomed world.. has much darker and mature theme, which I believe appeals to those who knew the old Thundercats series and the more-mature youths.

I recommend everyone to catch this new version.. it's awesome. It has its own style. I know everyone would compare this with the classic version, but I would say this version won't disappoint you much.

For now, let's re-lived the war-cry... in 1986s and 2011 style ~~ !!

But I must admit I prefer the 1986s cry.. very MAN.. compared to the 2011 although it has more dramatic element.

january journals 2012 - pt 2

Was wondering a bit whether to post this or not because there's nothing major going on in my life except preparing things for new year, ministry and my solo project.

Yes, for my solo project, finally my first MV is out, thanks to Zermi. We actually shot it late March/early April last year but due to busyness of ministry, we dragged the post-production quite long. Yes, God's work comes first. hahaha. After much waiting and perseverance, it is out!

Besides that, been planning with few people for the 2nd album launch and also trying to get some gigs around. So yes, exciting times ahead =)

Well, apart from that, just preparing things for ministry. 2012 is young so gotta make sure we progress on strongly...

And o, Manchester derby in FA Cup sees MU overcome Man City. YES! =P

Gf is at hometown so a bit lonely and missing her here...

Next week is CNY already so I guess everyone is counting down to it.....

Like to share some background about this song..

I can say it’s among the very first song I composed and it was really in an auspicious way. When I think about it, it’s just overwhelming to see how God works sometimes.

It was written like nearly 9 years ago for my high school’s prefects' camp. Every year, someone has that honor or responsibility to compose the camp theme song. Yes, I took up the challenge and I admit that time, it was REALLY a challenge. The theme of the camp was about unity and I have to come up with a song that reflects that. I pulled all my resources together -- with limited experience of songwriting that time, I remembered myself sitting in my room, holding my guitar and cracking my head for the lyrics and melody.

Lo and behold, I successfully composed it. Indeed I was very excited to compose a song that will be sung by many people and few days later, I presented that song to the committee. I admit I was nervous at first to hear their feedback but thank God they loved it very much and immediately asked me to teach them to sing it.

Next thing I know I presented it to everyone to learn. I was taken aback to see and hear myself how people are singing the song that I composed. That I can say, it kick start my songwriting journey into full gear.

Received encouragement and all which lead me to believe God can use songs to touch people's heart.

When I had the chance to cut an album with Jonathan Tse, this is one song I really wanted to record for everyone else in the world to hear. And yes, right now, you get to hear it =)

The album version is much different than the original version I wrote which is much acoustic and a key lower. I just wanted to go with more "grand" feeling for the album version.

Anyway, the song's message is pretty straight forward. Many people always promote unity because there's always power and strength when everyone come together to do something. Like it or not, no man is an island by himself. We cannot live our life alone for we always need support from one another.

There's so much we can do but together we can do even greater things.

That’s why people always say TEAM means Together Everyone Achieve More…so this song reflect on that meaning…it’s called Creating Miracles Through Unity.

We shoot this quite some time ago but due to ministry commitment and work, we kinda delayed the post-production. Finally we have time (and energy), we managed to go through the process and glad it's up for the whole world to see.

Indeed, we can achieve so much if we all put our differences aside, for together we can achieve greater things.

How's 2012 so far for you all?

It's been 1 week after New Year and we at FCC get to reflect back our year in this video.

As much this video reflect of God's blessing in our lives during 2011, I prayed you all also able to give thanks for the year 2011 and looking forward to a greater year at 2012.

Well, theme for FCC this year (2012) is Faith in Action. It's such a strong statement, that everything we do, we want to put our faith in it. The Bible says faith without action is dead (James 2:17).. having said so, this year, we want to put our trust and faith in God in everything we do, especially our ministry and life.

Hello 2012...

Spend the last few hours of 2011 in church, practicing for thanksgiving service.

And last 2011 dinner was some pizza feast with some worship team members.

Anyway, the thanksgiving service went well and had a great time. The worship was just awesome, really had a good time leading worship. God did shown up!

It was a packed house and what a way to usher the new year together in the house of God.

Went home, quite late after closing church and sending Mel home.

New Year's service at 10am - it was a bi-lingual service. Again, had a great worship time.

Lunch at Uncle Seng with some peeps.

Had dinner with relatives, at Sam Sook's house. My "Kucheh" Lily came back from Australia and that's why everyone gathered for this makan.

Went home quite late because my "yee-suk" @ 2nd uncle came late with more meals. Anyway, went home to do some last minute packing for staff retreat.

During this makan, received some blessings. Really thank God for it. Reminded of His goodness.

From 2nd Jan till 4th Jan, I had staff retreat at Cameron Highlands.

To be honest, I haven't been back to Camerons for nearly 6 or 7 (perhaps more) years. So yes, feels good to be back to experience the fresh and cool air.

Too bad most of the time, my sinus spoilt my day. Otherwise, it was a good retreat, better than last few I had over the years. Good time to prepare for the year and we are pretty pumped for it.

And personally, I just took some time to myself to think some directions and things to do for ministry and album. Although I didn't have much time that I like to and my sinus not helping me, I still thank God for speaking to me.

Had walks in few places. Some really made me remember my childhood and youth days coming to Camerons.

Who can forget the winding trip down via Tapah road is still that winding? Nearly caused me to puke.

After some rest once reaching KL, dinner time with cell group. What better way to kick off the new year for cg by eating awesome meat...!! Yes .. at Carnaval..

But most of the time, this time around, I was craving more for garlic bread... hahaha...yup, some of them always laughed at me craving for chicken ham..

Well, they always say the year start off after CNY, but building momentum in January is important..and I hope 2012 will be a special year for me, to see great things with God and hope He continue to lead me on...

What a year it has been so far, 2011...

First, I must thank God for everything so far. Without Him, I don't think all my solo projects will be taking off. I believe in His leading and His timing. I believe He has greater plans than even myself can imagine. So looking forward to see what You have, boss-from-above.

This year it's has been an incredible journey. Been to places (although visited Ipoh very often =P) and met awesome people along the way. I just want to express my utmost appreciation to everyone who came to my concerts, had fellowship with us, helped us, prayed for us, bought my album. You never know much your support and presence mean to me and the crew. We are truly blessed by you all.

I also want to express my thanks to crew especially the band members who toured with me. Thanks for the support, help, time and sacrifice. I truly enjoyed our time together. Hope for more fun times ahead!

Not forgetting, I want to express my appreciation to my parents, Jonathan Tse, Rev Chor Kee for all your advice and support as well.

Well, I believe the journey gets better year after year!!

So stay tuned for 2012.. all I can say right now, 2nd coming is inevitable!

Last week of 2011...!!

It's quite some time I last really went on a proper caroling. I remember back in those days I was at St Peter's.. going house to house, being a crackhead joker and eat until bloated.

Well, this year, we went to one house. Just one. A really nice house, invited by Uncle Ronnie's friend. Warm fellowship and epic meals there. Stayed there till most of us were restless.

Send a fellow worship team member back and realized he also likes Kamen Rider... found another fellow fan now...

Not ideal to prepare Christmas eve with a bad nose block. Ah-choooo

Let's skip to night time. Christmas eve event -- what if?

Overall, it was a major success, seeing around 600++ people packing FCC. That's a massive figure.. and praise God for it.

Few good things was :-

-- we had choir music instead of usual band music.

-- drama was great

-- church was super packed till canopy. Thank God we built it.. it's all about God's blessing =D

I said this to them already but I want to congratulate all those involved for a job well-done. Hope we can improve from any shortcomings and give glory to God for positive feedback.

After dinner, home to rest...

CHRISTMAS DAY!!

Service was great.. enjoyed it =D
Lunch -- round 2 at Brussels. For Darren's round 2 makan and "kinda" celebration for Yapp's changed of relationship status.. hahahaha...

Dinner was at Cheh Seng's house... had a fun time chatting around.

That's Christmas.. was fun although I had to content a bit with some mild sickness..

Thank God it's holiday!! I sleep all I want to get rid of the sickness....

Darren was busy packing for his transfer-work place to KK. House was in a mess.. full of his things. Aha..

I was so full over the weekend that I skipped my meals today till dinner.

Had dinner with core group members at Marche. Great time and great discussion. So excited for the new year to see what God is going to do in the ministry.

My uncle was there, at least get to wished him Merry Christmas and he gave us a free dish -- a new dish that he is going to introduce. Cool

Busy day to review the week and prepare for the weekend/year-end.

Night was practice time for new year's service... after the practice, I have this sense that God is going to do great things in our lives.

End the night with ganja burger with Jackson and Darren.

Send Darren to airport. He has been a great and fun housemate.. gonna miss him in some ways. Indeed, reach home, do feel the house is quiet a bit. Thank God I have a gf whom I can spend my time with =D

Indeed, we spend some time together -- catch Sherlock Holmes 2, which by the way was surprising awesome for me, giving it 8/10. I admit a but skeptical about 2nd round of Sherlock, turns out great!

Dinner at this Irish bar/restaurant that Mel wanted to try. Was nice and awesome. We had a great time too.

Went out, Zermi send me preview of my music video that we postponed way too long... ya...stay tuned for it!

Staff meeting, settle more Darren's things (he couldn't take some up the plane due to overweight) and going home to clean the house.

Yes, new year coming means the right timing to do spring cleaning. During this moment, I did feel lonely but thank God I still have my other housemate and in-coming new housemate... hopely all will be well.

I love my house so far, hopely can stay longer long term compare previous two houses, till the day I gonna start my own family.

Night - supposed to watch QPR v. MU with Gavin. Due to misunderstanding, it didn't happen. Luckily MU put up a good match to win 2-0.

My darling called me in the middle of the night to send her to clinic because she complained of bad stomachache. Was slightly worried about her.

It was a long tiring weekend, and better way to rest is to just chill at home on cool Monday night..

20th Dec

Darling complained the pain not getting any better so I send her to hospital. I decided to go private because I want to avoid the snail-like services of Government hospital. Yup, private was efficient enough although there's a price to it.

Thank God everything was okay and to cut the long story short, she took some medicine and recently got better.

Night practice for Christmas service. Then ganja burger time with Jackson and Julian.. never a dull moment!

Went MidValley to have lunch with Kelly and Yapp... of course, Darren and darling accompanied.

Man, I miss this laksa very much!

Darren supposed to collect some cupcakes at his friend's house who turns out to be YTL's daughter. And man, the house is like super huge and nice... I work my @$$ for next 10 years also won't get such awesome house! Hahaha.. such little faith statement...

Night's prayer meeting, did a simple acoustic set which turns out well. I should do more of this in future.. yea...

Then helpout a bit for the preparation for Christmas Eve..

Boss is back..

We had farewell lunch for Darren at Brussels Pyramid. Food was better than what I had last time at JayaOne but since the shop is relatively new, the service was still.. erm.. not up to standard you expect..

Then staff meeting was quite tense. I shouldn't spill some beans here but I do hope justice and common sense prevail. It's just sad that misunderstanding of some people ruined the good things the church work for.

Went collect lighting equipments for drama but another drama happen -- church van's tyre busted. Thank God was in front of the shop and they helped to fix it right away. Nice people.

Night was full dress rehearsal. Fingers-cross for a good show on Christmas Eve.

Today I am again reminded of what the world think of those working in full-time ministry.

I try not to go into details but deep inside me, I am crying that "hey, this gotta stop somewhere, somehow."

I am basically done seeing people misunderstand us.

There's so much rants I can go on and on until this page gets long but I am trying to hold my emotions back before it gets carried away.

I will let God be the judge. Sometimes we think we know best.. but we forget who knows better.

TO my fellow full-timers, don't let the world tell you who you are, let God be your refuge. To those thinking of responding to full-time, listen to the voice of God and don't lose heart.

I won't want to say more.

I asked this to my WT members recently. There were quite some fun answers.. putting stockings and mouse traps were some of the answers.

Now, what if Jesus comes tonight? Are we prepared?

Was doing devotion from Malachi 3. One of the key message there is preparing. God was conveying the message to the people to prepare their hearts and get their lifestyle/giving right as the coming of the Lord approaches.

Like any normal chores, preparing always key to anything. No preparation no good outcome. Simple eh.

Advent season is all about the coming of Christ.

So are we prepare to receive Him?

what if...

My church at FCC doing a Christmas play that carries the title -- WHAT IF..

They also have this contest going on where we have to come out with some "creative" answers or catchphrase to answer that question, as in -- "WHAT IF" a gift is awaiting me in Faith Christian Centre (FCC) on 24th December 2011 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm..."

Well then, I think we all tend to ask ourselves lots of WHAT IF questions.. dont we?

Yes, even myself.

There are many times I have many questions that starts with the two infamous words - what if...

what if I am working in circular world instead of church? what if I was not born in Malaysia? what if I decided to stay in Ipoh instead of KL? what if what if what if...

I can type a long list of it...I am sure anyone will...

What made us have such questions? Perhaps there are some regrets in us or perhaps some "creative" thought in us made us think that way like wondering how the 'other' ending could look like instead of happy ending you have now.

There was once Marvel ran a series of their comic series under the brand "what if..." which offers alternative ending or route of their infamous characters. Example :- what if Spiderman's uncle didn't die? what if Professor X can walk?

Do have such thoughts like that?

I wish I have that power to see my alternate route and ending sometimes. Fun but obviously it's impossible... o well.. if only..

Instead of asking WHAT IF all the time, I believe it's matter of living life of faith and trust in our walk with God.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:18-19

Take heart that God always doing something good in our life as He promised. =)

Life is mysterious. Questions about life and time is always fascinating but at the end of the day, we can put up our hands and say there's a greater power watching over us.

The way God works is indeed full of mysteries and beyond our imagination.

My prayer that you will enjoy the remainder of 2011, have a great Christmas period ahead (8 days away!) and be excited for next year.

Hope 2012 will be great for all of us as we reflect the past few moments.

Long day on Sunday.

After lunch, I met the pastor from Damansara's Life Sanctuary church who seek our help to 'revive' the youth fellowship. Me and Victor planned a bit and hope it will worked out for them. O well, another opportunity to contribute to the community ;)

There was a Toraja Christmas.. well.. overall was good.

There was this Indo band playing and the way the bassist pronounce bass was funny.. he said BUS..

AND MU won this morning 4-1... !! THEY are back.. i watched the match, they played like the MU I used to know!

Another Monday holiday. Didn't go anywhere this time except at night, where I went to Lutheran church to witness a Christmas choir organized by some West Diocese church. Mm.. rarely I go to such event but it was an eye-opener experience.

Met so many familiar faces there --
Shuk Bing who was conducter for a choir..
Bishop Moon Hing - I miss meeting him...
Patrick Leong - He remembered me but forgot my name... o well... I dont blame him, if I were in his shoes...

Ds Ruth and husband Eddie Ong - very hardworking Anglican pastors..

Overall, like I said, it was an eye-opener experience..

The thing about Monday holidays, it affects everyone's schedule.

Darren came to me and asked how was my outing and I said it's on Wednesday. All in all, he thought today was Thursday...okayyy...

Organized staff meeting like a boss. I don't see myself as a pastor in future but I have to do what I was appointed to do..

Took my former housemate Theodore and his gf to visit Wheatfield. We had a good meal there and good time of catching up and fellowshipping.

At night went pyramid, accompany my darling to do some shopping..

We saw this publicity stunt around Pyramid.. I wondered how this models survived their work..

Yes, they are real models... not statues...

Watch Muppets and it was a feel-good and laughter movie. I'll give 7/10. Just go in and be entertained. O well, it's Muppets movie by the way.

Lately I am a bit of a dilemma and confusion to answer some people's inquires...

Sometimes I don't like people telling me how to run my ministry. Not to say I am not humble to hear advice but sometimes I do think some are saying for the sake of saying.

Let me answer with the love that I have :)

Don't get me wrong. I take them with a pinch of salt and evaluate it whether it is relevant to make changes or not.
I believe I should act according to God-given wisdom and I will bare responsibility on things I am handling.
I believe I need to evaluate the whole situation in a bigger picture, most of all, remembering any ministry one is handling belongs to God, not me or the pastor or anyone else.

Here's why I start this topic.. it's because of some comment..

I been told that the worship team should be "more" open to accept more team members but some said I should not always open the door "too open" for people to join.

Well, there's always two side to the coin. So depends how you see it.

Now let me ask the question...

Will it do any good to the team?
Are they as good as they claimed to be?
Are they committed members as some claimed they are?
Are they willingly to make the sacrifice to serve God? Why join this ministry?
Did you think of the 'quality' of the team?

I know everyone have different expectations but I hope people can understand some ministries run in certain ways for some reasons. Some ministries have different needs.
Ministry need to be fluid sometimes... to keep up the changes that is God-led.

I don't know if I did well to answer such question, but I tried. I hope you understand. No hard feelings.

Some key notes of my 1st week of December..

1st Dec

Quite a packed day.

Morning, fetch some aunties & uncles for senior citizen lunch.. a farewell lunch to Aunty Suk Mei.

She is one of the nicest aunties I met in FCC. Very faithful and very on-fire for God even at her age. I admire her courage to pray earnestly for the church and ministry. She always been very encouraging for us as staff team in praying for us, encourage us and cook us good meals. Gonna miss her for her love for God and His people.

After sending the uncles and aunties back to their homes, I went Summit to met Ps Andy Yeoh.

Who is he you may ask? He is the youth pastor of ACTS church and the lead singer of local Christian band Altered Frequency. Sat down with him and share experiences about ministry. Overall, I am encouraged and enjoyed my conversation with him. I learned a lot from such sharing.. that's why sometimes it's good to meet some great people :)

Look around Acts church then went off to settle some errands. There's where I discovered my car tyre punctured.

After got it done, went to IKEA for cell group outing. We decided to be there since Sam Vun is doing his 'flash mob prayer' at Cineleisure, we wanted to give moral support... but there was heavy rain.. I only got a glimpse of him praying with his friends at the Cineleisure bridge.

Had a good fellowship and glad the cell group so far been enjoyable. Short time of shopping around at IKEA since Mel wanted to get something..

Of all the malls I went to, I am impress with 1 Utama so far with their underwater theme..

Guess who I bump into...

And saw OSIM having some road show, they kindly gave me a free foot massage... hahaha...

Anyway, after dinner, watch Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

Perhaps curiosity kinda kill the cat for me. I admit few years ago, I saw the book in the bookstore, then I took and read the last page... kinda gave myself spoilers. So now watching it on-screen feels kinda... erm.. emotional-less when I see it.

I just feel okay about the movie. I think my gf will disagree with me..

The only thing I like about the movie is the songs or the right term.. soundtrack.

6/10 for Breaking Dawn. Girls might disagree with me.. some I say..

Had a great time leading worship on Saturday night..

I had a bad day today....

First, the people in my house delayed my trip to church. I needed to be at church early to open and setup...

Reach church, the members were reacting slow to setup.. like everything is slacking and delaying.. testing my nerves...

Cut long story short... I got my nerves tested before leading worship...

I think this is the dilemma and challenge for every worship leader in the world.. to able to focus when everything else screws up. Yup, mine just happened..

A lot of ad hoc things happen as well...

Thank God.. there's Him and my lovely gf..

Spend time dinner with her at her fave crab place.. after send her home, went home n rested..

Dec 5th

Boss will be away for holiday.. and I was asked by him to "take charge" in office.. have to work.. LIKE A BOSS! nah....

Few good things happened today so wasn't Monday blues at all. The best was my house's grass have been long and I needed to cut it.. was wondering how to do it until a man came by and offered to cut with a good price. I agree and he did a very good job at it. Thank You God!!

Been busy cleaning things online and my room..

Dec 6th

Morning went out to settle things.. especially getting the new cymbals for church.

So ya.. now it's the full set ready to be used by the church drummers.. hope it will be well-maintenance..

I am disappointed with IKEA Malaysia.. in terms of their food court. I remember years ago, I love to go there for its classy and fresh approach. Now, it's too localized and the people worked there turned it into such sub-standard court... yes, there's what I hate and annoyed about Malaysians sometimes.. turning classy European food eatery into some local shop.

Sometimes the fork and spoons not ready.. or dirty. Things are slow.. some of the food not worth eating anymore.. ai.. just sad...

And yet we still go there.. out of 4 weeks, it's my third visit there -.-'

Mel got this coupon for face treatment, went to try it. Refreshing but the pinching for some parts of my skin was quite pain.

Shopped at Empire.. well.. that's pretty much my day.

Recently I led devotion before worship team practice, I was sharing from 1 Thessalonians 2:1-16

It is amazing to read about Paul's journey and ministry that goes around spreading God's love but he did it out of love for God and His people.

There were lots of encouraging verses there but let me highlight verse 8 that says :-".. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.."

Our lives is such a loud testimony.. isn't it?

Earlier I posted a FB status :- we inspire each other somehow. In our Christian walk, yes we do inspire one other somehow... not just words but also our action and love.

What I am today, I believe, is because of friends, elders, church leaders who guided me over the years.. who encouraged me, play with me, hanged out with me, pray for me, scold me, bless me.

I believe that in some ways, someone out there else is inspired by our lives as much as we are inspired.

What is our Thessalonica? Are we being a blessing to our community?

So yes, be a good inspiration and blessing to everyone!

hole in your.... wheel..?

Recently, I was driving and somehow I felt my car tyres need some air..

Stop the nearest petrol station near my house, pump every tyre until came to the last one. Had a shock of my life seeing a nail in it... to make things worse, the moment I pull the nail out, it turned out to be a massive nail. And yes, air start to let loose from there.

Quickly I drove to the nearest car workshop, which happen to be the one I am very familiar about. In a nutshell, they explain that they need to do major touchup and covering on that hole. In view that later I have to use the car for cell group, I agree to them to let them "repair" the damage done.

I witness the whole process how they take the wheel out, looking for that hole, plastering, etc etc.

I thank God that time because somehow I have a gut feeling to take out an extra cash for something.. turnout it is to cover that damage.

At the same time, the whole incident reminded me of our hearts as well. Broken, shattered and punctured. If we do not do something about it, our hearts will lost steam (or air if you will) till it caused your journey to lose track. Just like a car with a tire that has lost its air, cannot move on the road properly.

Our hearts need some plastering and checking.. that's where Jesus comes in.

HOSEA 6:1-3 -

he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.

No matter how broken and punctured we are, the Lord heals and able to fix that wound/hole so we can continue our journey of life in the right track.

Been thinking time and time again about this blog.. and other blogs I have (such as my musician site blog, etc)

Been wondering what direction I should take for them.. I realized over the years my blogging have developed somehow maturely although certain time I get carried away emotionally.. hahaha...

Again, I think with modern tech that is around us these days, I should be blogging maturely and responsibly..

Thinking of small kids and wise leaders reading this, I decided to try to blog with direction and purpose.. so everyone can learn and laugh at life at the same time.

I was evaluating whether to delete my post emotional blog posts.. days when I feel hurt and angry..especially few years ago.. but think about it, I decided to leave it as a memory of how I progress, move on, grow out of it, learn from it.

In the past, people used to think blogs are meant to be private and I do feel the same way. I don't go around promoting my blogs, if you notice.

I sometimes cringe when people come to me and said certain things.. then when I asked how they know, they say they read it on my blog... or FB status or Twitter.. o well...

But then, we are wrong to think once you have blogs, people have no "rights" to read it and acquire about it.. but first place, why put yourself into the cyber-world?

Our life is always under a spotlight, isn't it? With modern techs, we all entitled to be stalkers and busy-bodies any time we want...

But then.. it's a matter of self-control and respecting people's privacy and way of living.

So cheers people.. I try to blog more.. share some devotion thoughts.. some lame thoughts.. to you all.. and pardon me if there's emotional ones..

The wedding everyone waited for at FCC -- Mike and Graise.. congrats to both! Know them since I stepped into FCC, may the Lord bless you both.

Wedding was nicely done, well, with lots of high C people taking care.. of course most details are covered intensively.. haha..

Lunch was great.. enjoyed it..

...then we rushed back for worship practice.

Disappointed with MU's draw with Newcastle.. 1-1

And wait... someone didn't wear dress for Mike's wedding as promised! I m disappointed too..

27th November

It's another rainy Sunday.
Was wondering what to do.. so many ideas yet in the end, I choose to watch "puss in boots" with Darren, Julian and darling. It was a decent movie for laughter. Overall, I give it 6/10

HOLIDAY!

Me, darling, Darren, Mr and Mrs Rick drop by at Wheatfield.

Had a good time hanging out there, eating their awesome stuff..

Some of them ordered American breakfast.. it comes in a set with coffee(or tea) + cake + orange juice.

I tried their cabonara... cream-i-licious!

Recommended for you all, not just that I know the owner very well, but their stuff does taste awesome..

Met a pastor in Damansara who asked me whether I can help out in their youth ministry. I admire his passion and calling to reach out to people around him, but sometimes he has not enough resources. I guess there's the story in many Malaysian churches. Gotta have faith and pray for them.

Nothing much... watching some series recommended by Darren -- Terra Nova and New Girl.

Terra Nova -- make me feel like watching Lost series with Jurassic Park-feel. It's good and hope it works out well, considering Spielberg is the producer.

New Girl -- it's a comedy that has Zooey Deschanel looks like Katy Perry...

My dear collegue and worship team member Caroline lately has a "disturbing" slip on her mouth..

Whenever she wants to say "bro", it turns into bra..

Latest, was in office when she asked me whether my bro was around for Christmas.. I mean to rephrase in her version.. is my "bra" around for Christmas..

I couldnt resist laughing aloud on that ... and mean side of me have to share this..

Someone told me that "bra" mean bro in some cultures but .. still sounds wrong in this part of the world..

But ya, in language, a letter do make a difference to the meaning of the word.. lesson of the day..

Another wedding service.. yup..

Today Saturday service, am proud to see new generation of members serving. Most of all, the English tambourine team is back after few years of hiatus!

Had dinner with Mel's cg to celebrate Kim Loong's birthday. It was held at Fullhouse Sunway Pyramid.

Food is good, but it's not something you would want to spend everytime.. perhaps once awhile eating there is still alright.

Church playing host to ACE conference - because FAA is selected for such event. This conference runs for a week.

I was helping out particularly in sound system side, I got a chance to sit in sometimes and it was a bit of an eye opener to know more about Christian education.

If I can turn back time, I wish I can enrolled in such program when I was a kid. It's really different than the gov's education system -- which sometimes has its pros and cons

Nearly a day at office, after leaders' meeting at night, watch Indonesia v. Malaysia... well.. we came out tops!

Just I was disgusted by some reaction after the match. Anyway, let's not take the credit away from Malaysian soccer team!

Malaysia won gold in the SEA games' soccer event..

The moment the winning penalty kick went in, tweets and FB live feed was flooded with many calls for holidays. Some suddenly became so good friends with our beloved PM by flooding his FB/Twitter/(whatever-social-network he has) to bag for day off.

I mean come on Malaysia.. are we that terrible to make such childish claims?

Let me give some reasons why I will not favor a holiday :-

1) For crying out loud, we just win gold medal in SEA games!! not even Olympic medal or World championship. It's like any other event in SEA games. And what claim should we get a holiday out of it? We finished 4th overall in SEA Games.
Unless you tell me that the gold is the only gold we get in SEA games...

As much soccer is THE game in Malaysia, we gotta credit the other 58 gold winners for Malaysia.

2) We Malaysian been claiming for holidays too often. A lot of people do not see the bigger picture. It affects our business and work schedule. Yes, you can say it affects our economy. Remember our economy is not the best of health sometimes.
The same people who wines about our economy is the same people who begs for holidays. How contradict... how to grow the country if always holiday?

I rather have the government giving us free tickets or free jersey to support them. Heck, even discount also good enough. It's expensive enough to show our support for our own national team, it's like paying for a EPL team..yup.. an original Malaysian jersey is equally expensive as a MU or Arsenal jersey..perhaps more..

Anyway, sometimes I am disappointed to see the dirty side of Malaysians.. i am ashamed..really..

But then, let's not take the credit away from the soccer team who showed their determination to defend the gold they won 2 years ago. Not easy considering we play at hostile areas and to be doing it in 2 straight SEA games.

Tahniah Harimau Muda.. may you continue to bring pride and glory to the national soccer state..

Hope your next game against Syria for Olympic qualifier will progress well too.

Another 80s cartoon I love to watch when I was young is Saber Riders and Star Sheriff..

I promise, it is way better than the previous post I did... hahaha...

Love the story, of course the animation is anime..yup.. everything those days were just ripped from the Japanese..

Anyway, my favourite part is always the appearance of the huge robot...called RAMROD!

Best thing right now for me, I able to find back the season (the inner child of me screaming YAY!) and I gonna enjoy myself watching it..

13th November

It was super heavy downpour that there were reports on twitter and online that my housing area was badly affected. There were hailstorms.. trees falling... even read that some house didnt have electricity but thank God nothing happen to my house.
Yup, when I went home, I saw how bad it was. Some still flooded then some people came and clear all the fallen trees.

It's rainy season but lately, the weather been crazy. It's hot a moment then later on, crazy rains.
Just pray everyone will be alright.

14th November

After a long weekend, it's always nice to chill at home after work. Cooked own dinner, yes I got my cooking gas fixed, drinking hot soup and hot chocolate, watching shows... ahhh... just relaxing..

15th November

Most of the time today went for drum hunting. Ya, can say we found the right drum for the church.. hopely the procedure to get it will be smooth.

16th November

Was at ioi mall puchong to watch immortals. Ranting by TL :- 6/10
It's like watching Spartacus, but a very mild version. It's more of a slow paced, arty-type of film. Don't expect 300-feeling for this movie or else you will be disappointed like me. Lucky I just spend rm 7 for this film.

And out of nowhere, I registered myself for Toys R Us card. But dont expect any toys from me for Christmas ya... hahaha...

I never gonna drink Teh panas... i thought in cold weather, it's awesome to have hot drinks but..bad decision...it made me cant sleep till 4am... GOSH! Moreover I have wakeup early the next day....

17th November

I followed Rev to west diocese meeting. It's good to be visiting my 'home' diocese..

It's an eye opener experience to hear and see myself the Anglican churches in the West.. some are going through tough times, some are doing well.

Hopely will have opportunities to impact this diocese as much as I can..

Lunch was so-so... nevertheless, it's free, I cant complain much.

At night, it was FAA's 1st awards night. Quite a historic moment for them. All went well.

18th November

I braved the heavy rain to send senior citizen back, survived a stomachache and then reach office feeling sick and sleepy. How to work macam ni...??? >.<

At least a good nap, hot bath, hot meal helps..

When I was a very young kid, I like it, even had their toys. My favourite was their leader.. Captain Power...

Now that when I managed to watch it back, thanks to wonders of downloads, I asked myself why did I like it..I cant even finish the first episode..I literally cringe watching it...

O well, you gotta forgive them for their technology and special effects those days..

It was holiday due to the day was public holiday. So I took Darren and Melanie to KL to .. well.. do the Darren thing that is to walk around KL yet again.

This time, we watch TinTin in 3D... was nice but of course, the animation captures my imagination.

8th November

Lunch at Julian's restaurant again, this time he is the manager.. the memorable meal was the dessert... my favourite so far!

Futsal.. had a good game.. put in 2 goals.. yay.. back to scoring...!

9th November

Collected the new projectors and it was mounted up on the day itself. After long wait for it, finally it is done.. quite relief...

Cell group, despite started late, went well..

The main event today was the 1960s night.

Overall, it was fun. Everyone worked hard for this night..

The next big event in FCC was the visit of RELENT/1am ministry. I started off the night with few songs, including my new song for my new album.
Lots of places have heard it during my tour but it was my first time performing that in front of FCC crowd..heard some good feedbacks..yay! :)

The night went well overall, it was rocking time all in all. Had a great time of fellowship with them.. anyway for pictures of the night, check them out on my solo project's FB.

Autobots, transform and roll your opinions..

I am a huge Transformers fan..

Been watching it since when I am so young.. yes.. being the 80s baby, i remember G1 Transformers fondly..

Recently, I managed to watch the Transformers movie trilogy again, but mainly re-watching TF3 intensively.. Tf1 and TF2 I skipped few parts... as much I was fine with Michael Bay/Steven Spielberg's interpretation, perhaps I felt I wanted more and felt it could have been better.

I think most die-hard TF fans will agree with me.

Many would thought there should be more of robots instead of chicks. But come on, no matter how advance our tech these days, there's limit to it... although as a fan, I wished there's more robots turning up instead of more airtime for Megan or Rose..

I try to compromising to Bay's version of Transformers especially Optimus being aggressive, which is a bit contradict his cartoon counterpart which most of the time is NOT such a killing machine..

Ha.. dont start about booms and explosion around the movies.. yup.. Bay is well-known to explode lots of things...

Some of you might think this comes in little late.. but after watching again and again, yea this what i feel..felt i wanted more from movie version

Rumors has it that there could be 4.. but hope it would be better..

For now, there's Transformers Prime cartoon.. seems it little bit follow the direction of the movie.. (btw, producer for the series is the same movie producer).. concept-wise I can accept but sometimes some plot is boring. Hope the series gets better..

Seems like I hope Transformers gets better.. hahaha..

It's 11th month of 2011.. what to say le..

Mmm.. there were days people just tested my patience.. sometimes the bad guy in me wants to be Darth Vader and give them the Force choke..

But we are to be patient... man, seriously they been testing my patience A LOT!

And everyday's weather been glooming.. always raining raining.. it's good but sometimes morning, it can be a challenge to wakeup to such fine weather...

1st November -
Met half the RELENT team :- Cuzario and Daniel. We spoke further more about the event on 12th November and clement the flow. Basically all is set for an awesome concert.. oh ya..

Night time, futsal. Just by missing 1 week of futsal made my body tired easily.. muscle-aches and easy-tired-feeling. I played goalkeeper most of the time, towards the end, I felt I was terrible like David James...

2nd November -

From Times Square to Sg Wang to Pavilion. All within 7 to 8 hours.
It's crazy, considering my legs were tired the day before then do such crazy feat today.
But as long it makes my girl happy.. hahaha.. :P

To be honest, the day before I saw a wireless earclip mic that i have been searching for. Pastor said please get it for this week. I was abit taken aback because I would love to do more research.. o well, boss say, you gotta do it. Furthermore, he showed me the cash to get it.. ya..

Bought it and tested at night. All to say.. what to expect from a RM1K wireless mic wo...

It's like buying Bebe of MU.. u cant expect that much..
Unless I buying a "Rooney" or "Ashley Young"..

Morning :- Shu Jun and 'Kamen Rider' Daniel Ong's marriage.. 3rd wedding attended actually in matter of weeks..

Afternoon :- preparation for Confirmation service.
Service went well.. except a few minor parts like drummergirl played wrong beat.. oops..
Night time.. was quite tired n sick.. then i walked in watching the FM folks having performance night, then they suddenly asked for impromptu performance for me.. at such condition I sang abit of Bruno Mars then my song.. haha.. crazy..

6th November
Recently been joining the Faith Board games a bit.. ya..
Dinner, 10 of us - me, mel, jackson, HY, peter, caroline, mickey, ah seng, jimmy, evelyn - had our meal at Betty's Mid-west Kitchen.

So much review we read n heard n saw.. so we decided to try..

My pull porked burger.. kinda regretted ordered this.. just so so for me.. such have ordered their other pork burger..or other things..

Was really a tiring weekend.. but well, there are good things to look forward to.. especially with year end around the corner..

Mmmm... perhaps I should spend more time on typing journals.. but sometimes busyness and laziness overwhelmed..

There was a wedding in the morning.. it was fine.. food is fine.. weather's fine..
Night was the revival meeting with a Indo pastor. That guy really cracks the whole crowd up with his jovial personality and super funny jokes. Everyone had a great time... one of the best Saturday service we had..

A long day.. especially evening was involved again in the BM revival meeting.
During the meeting, the Holy spirit was really REAL.. and it spoke to me about my calling.. reveal to me in vision. Even when Rev Augustine prayed for me, I know it's really God's speaking.

Another news, Man City trashed MU 6-1. Seriously, we were speechless.. well, that's soccer...

Was alittle sick but evening, rested lots and it kinda made me felt better.

Went to Seremban for Global Leadership Summit.

Prior to that, because it's Deepavali week, lots of fireworks in the middle of the night, little difficult for me to catch some sleep @@
Today's seminar was good.. the New Jersey mayor part was very inspiring..
The band played that day was a bit too show off, like a pub band..
And we had Juwita Suwito performing. I wasn't in top health to be nicely speaking to her..
Rushed home to KL... and prepare for worship practice... then went home.. yes, skipped futsal..

Deepavali holiday but wasn't really for me...

Went to Seremban again for the summit. Today basically ok but the last talk by Ps. Steven Furtick was just inspiring.

Back to KL for prayer meeting. Lots of people came but then again, it's holiday...

27th Oct

Cancel cell group due to Rick going to Chinese service. Took time to help my darling to shift things to her new home. Later that night, Jon Tse called me. Was surprise he was around, so we went out for a drink.. have discussion for the album.. hangout.. had some laughs..

Took the day off. Basically to spend some time with my darling because today it is our anniversary.

Indeed thank God for watching over us =)

We went to Ficelle for brunch. Although same owner as Levaine, I still think Levaine is better.

We wanted to go lookout point. Prior to that, was looking high and low for it..it's crazy and I dont want to talk about it...

Overall, the place is cool..

15th October

We had this guy named Rev Tom Halls, Australian pastor and his preach was awesome. I enjoyed it. The whole day, people were counting down to clash between MU v. Liverpool. In the end, it was 1-1. Could have been a win if Giggs decided not be scared of the ball.. terrible -.-'

16th October
Service was good, joined few folks for Board game. Got my haircut, after feeling having a fringe is not helping.

17th October

Futsal time and I scored an awesome hattrick.

19th October

Had to be back church to practice for BM revival meeting. Before that, got to watch Real Steel.
It was an awesome movie, i give 4/5 for it. One of Hugh Jackman's better movies.

First night of revival meeting. Heavy downpour causes massive jams everywhere.
Was quite annoyed with the whole projector postponing.. calling that person makes me bored..it is that point..

I gotta stop here, took abit of my brain juice to recall but then it's a simple review..haha..

There was this leadership course done by Robert Leong in the noon time. Was a good course. The only setback was this projector of ours not working well as it should.. swt..

Night, tried this ZenQ dessert with Mel's cg. Was good then rush to Carls Jr for dinner. They told us that they only take takeaways but we endup taking our food to eat there..

Oct 9th

Evening was the English Worship Team fellowship. Was good and successful.

Lots of encouragement and also sharing done. So ya, every shortcoming we need to improve while every encouragement, we take heart and we learn.

Well, I got to know talking to friends as worship team members made a difference. Wow.. power of influence.

Good meal once again, thanks to Marco and bro. Recommended.

Oct 10th
Night was the leaders' meeting. I admit I was bored when boss wanna run a mock cg there. A mock cg isnt the problem but when it got carried away, it isnt 'mock' anymore. For me, 'mock' should be 20-30.. not more than that.
O the lunch time, we so-called spend Dinry on his belated birthday.. so full till it last me a day.. ya, even I skip dinner.. tat full I was... and I need to keep fit @@
Another happy note, I received two songs from Jonathan Tse.. he mixed the recording we done nearly 4 months ago.. glad to hear them back and cant wait you guys to hear it!

I kinda figured a way to record some demo, I experiment and successfully done it. Need for fine tune then should be .. well.. fine. I could post some up.. see how..
Futsal -- fun but tiring because this time we get to play more instead of lately we always been swapping teams in and out every 7minutes. Scored plenty, assist plenty, enjoyed the game, all in all, good workout!

I thought Summit was selling some DC comics merc stuff for cheap...but I was cheated.

Anyway, walk around Summit then explore USJ19 mall.. reasonably alright considering close to my house..
Night time, spoke to Yvonne about my next album project's budget. Well, it's a reminder that doing an album is not so easy. Recording is tough, budgeting is tough. Gee...

It's just weird for two straight days I spotted dead rats in front of my car porch. Maybe I am skeptical but it's just ironic. My housemate Wei Joo thinks could be a cat he recently notice roaming our area.. I try to think maybe we can good pest control medic in our house.. but then, anything can happen eh..

That morning, God just spoke to me about some spiritual input/insight for my next album. That's why devotion is important!!

There's this uncle staying my house for few days, apparently he is a diocese's pastor's brother.. he been treating me breakfast... God's blessing..

CGBC tour

Back in Ipoh again for the weekend for a visit at CGBC (canning garden baptist church). Was invited to share at their workshop then lead a concert.

Here are some chronicles of our journey..

9pm - Escaping KL jam to make our way to Ipoh..

11pm - Reach Ipoh. Meet our friendly person-in-charge of the event Mr William Chin

1115pm - Check in to our guest house. Lovely place...

1130pm - Late dinner/supper at Tong Sui Kai. We never fail to visit this place. We just love the beef noodles and mixed fruit ice dessert here.

1240am - Back home to unwind..and sleep!

1st October

9am - Breakfast at old town. Tried their famous egg tart, coffee, noodles

1030am - Soundcheck, setup for concert

12pm - Lunch nearby

130pm - Start workshop with the youths. It was a good experience for me to be able to share with them what is worship.

4pm - Concert time. It was good despite the last minute push for the event, glad to see people came.

We had a good time worshiping and great fellowship too..

630pm - We visited Take a Break point after knowing it from FB. Tried their macrons, was good.

645pm - After much heard and see about Michangelo, a pizza place at Ipoh, went there to have dinner. Well, the pizzas are oven stone-baked which makes the pizza tasty. Seriously yummy pizza!

745pm - Went Parade to jalan jalan, beli belah...

1030pm - 2nd round of Tong Sui Kai. Yes, it is how much we love that place..

1145pm - Rest..

2nd October

8am - Breakfast

9am - We attended service at St Peter's Church

11am - Another round of beli-belah...

1230pm - Lunch with parents.

140pm - Back home to pack..

230pm - Leave Ipoh to KL

Overall, it was blessed journey. Had a great time meeting new friends and old friends as well.

In this journey/trip, I did see how God used me to be a blessing and encouragement to others. That fact really made me grateful to Him for His leading so far. All I can do is just surrender to Him and let Him work mightily in everyone's life.

Lots of fun with everyone. I thank the crew that followed :- Gracy, Joanne, Yapp and Mel. On behalf of them, we really enjoyed our time and thank God for a wonderful time.

I wanna thank William Chin and CGBC for wonderful fellowship during our trip there.

I guess this is the 'last' trip outstation as Christmas period is drawing near. But I guess we will look forward to next year then..

Welcome to the 10th month of the year..

1st and 2nd day was at Ipoh for tour.. visiting CGBC.. read about it on here.

Oct 1st
Some things I learn today :-
1) How God uses me and my songs. As I led worship, I see how the songs touched people's hearts.
2) The band members got more fans than me.. hahaha.. many surrounded Joanne and Gracy..
3) NEVER offer Joanne Vun macrons... she got sugar high after having them

Oct 2nd
Some side things from what happen :-

1) Just weird that the morning we slept, the electricity blackout twice.

2) Finally discovered that famous JJ Cake shop. Their cakes is unique in its own way..

3) Reach KL safely. After sending everyone home, went for FCC leaders' dinner/meeting.
4) Reach home 9pm.

Oct 3rd
Me still feeling some side effects from travelling and busy weekend.

Oct 4th
Futsal at night. Played well - scored good goals (wish i can view it again! :P) and miss a bad sitter than even Torres would be proud of me. I had a stint as keeper and I was enjoying it.. keep a clean sheet oh!!

Oct 5th

Me and Mel decided to try Levain, after much hearing and reading about it. Had faith to find that place, turnout quite easy finding it!

Overall, love the place.

Walked at Times Square then bought some things to come for dinner. Gosh, I miss Empire's Jaya Grocer when comes to getting groceries..

Cooked dinner at home. Wei Joo loves it... hahaha...

Oct 6th
Went pasar malam.. at evening 5pm..
But what really made me happy today was i got lots of inspiration thoughts today...all preparing for next year!

Oct 7th

Morning :- Senior Citizen :- Makan time.

Night time, went to Worship Unlimited, an event organized by Eaglepoint church. Had a blessed time worshiping there, encountering God and be recharged by God.

Morning :- practice for night's service
Afternoon :- was the cell training/conference doe by Rev Sng.

Evening :- Service.. awesome time of worship and fun.

Dinner with Johnny and his gf. We ate at Ole Ole Bali. The grilled chicken i ordered was superb.. i enjoy it. Cant forget the taste..

25th Sept

Highlight of the day is following and watching Faith Music tour at Sungai Long. Again, attendance was much to be desired but the event was good. It's just...man.. wasted... wished more people should have come and witness it.

26th Sept

Meet Neil from RELENT band and talk about future collabration about music and creative arts. It's a good meeting and hopely things can work out. :)

At night, had a great practice in preparation for Ipoh tour. Enjoyed it much.

27th Sept

Went to buy new acoustic guitar with Mr Tia. I had a good time knowing him better, knowing that he knows lots of people who can get us good prices for instruments.

We went to Cheras' Guitar Store and got this acoustic guitar back for church. It's called Farida and the sound is good, love the finishing.

28th Sept

Was disappointed that my daytime ruined by my car's extended fix. Suppose to have lunch with Mel but car have to stayed workshop for more fixing.

But the morning story was Empire building got blown up. Not the whole building but some floors and lucky it happen during the night time. Read more here.

O, that time, I watched MU v. Basel. Quite a sloppy match, I just watched 1st half, thinking at 2-0.. MU should able to come out with a win. Turns out drew 3-3.

Night time, went prayer meeting. Disappointed that the turnout was bad. If you want to see difference in church, we have to pray.

To make up for the cancelled lunch, me and Mel had Williams for dinner. Lovely mash potatoes and cheese naan.

Lots of disappointment eh... look at the amount of the word disappointed appeared..

Yup, travelled to Ipoh in the evening... so that goes over to October...

16th Sept

It's Malaysia Day holiday. Me and Mel decided to visit Malacca.. a 2 hour plus drive.

Kinda lucky we arrived early morning, there was a march pass since Malaysia Day.

Well, explored Jonker Street and walk around those historic places, ya, we literally walk here and there.

What else we are there for? FOOD!!

Famous Jonker 88 shop. I love their durian cendol and their laksa(although it is spicy)

The most-talked-about-food :- Mile Crepe. Nice nice but towards the end of your slice, you start to feel full.. thank God didnt plan to have lunch there...

Arrived home at evening, basically chill to complete a holiday-feel..

Funny that later the day i realized a lot of my friends visited Malacca yet we never bump into each other. Worse still, some also went to that cake shop to have that cake...some like few hours after I left...

17th Sept

I thought I was late for office... reach office, I just remembered not many staff is around...why so hardworking and panic? Sweat.

Led worship then at Faith Music, we have our usual end-of-semester fun which is "the battle of the band" contest. Was fun all in all. And Mickey took a dig at me, but it's all fun.

18th Sept

Glad my childhood friend Johnny Lee came for service. Hope this time he can come to FCC more often.. happy to see him.

Wanted to have dinner plans but Aunty Annie told me stay back to help the Chinese leaders meeting, it was fine with me because get free food.. hahaha..

Night time is EPL watching time..!!
Prior watching MU v. Chelsea, heard Liverpool lost to Spurs..my boss is a Liverpool fan, I guess he wasnt pleased to see that result.. moreover when MU beat Chelsea.. hahaha..

Was a great match, at least Chelsea gave a fight. MU could have won by many goals but also lost by many goals. Who can forget the miss-of-the-season by Torres..

19th Sept
Nothing much, a day to rest for me at night because most of the night lately I have been out. Good to be just chilling, clean room, cooking at home.

20th Sept

Don't know why was quite sleepy today.
Played futsal, scored 3 goals... pretty happy with my play but wished could have play more..

21st Sept

Continue on from reaching home after futsal, bath and rest... till reach time to watch Leeds v. MU.

Wow, MU put out a makeshift team. All playing were players that could get a chance so far this season like Owen, Park, Giggs, Diouf and some played out-of-position. Like Valencia and Carrick were at defense, Diouf and Macheda played wing.

Still a 3-0 win with Owen scoring two goals. I watched halfway until I dozed off.. lucky found a site that showed the streaming quite clear...

Later of the day, watched Johnny English. Seriously really funny stuff...

Night time, jammed with the band for Ipoh gig.

Other than that, been busying preparing for upcoming events, particular my Ipoh gig that I have prepared a workshop and sharing. Wow.. please pray for me...

Just spoke to pastor about my ministry and work .. all in all, I kinda excited to see how it unfolds. Future is hard to see but I know it's with God. Now it's all up to me to take up the challenge and suddenly all to Him!

Let's see how it unfolds.. let's see 1 year from now.. mmm...

8th Sept -

Decided to try Seapark Nasi Lemak for dinner, then wanted to visit pasar malam but hard to get parking..

9th Sept -

Senior citizen went to their outing at some organic farm but didnt follow as I wasnt needed.

Night time, settle the Christmas program with Rev and Graise. Glad that Christmas program is finalized! Phew!!

10th Sept -

Went to MGM Songwriters Showcase. One of the first few public performance.
Met the well-know local Christian songwriters like Patrick Teoh and Ps. Ng Wai Lok. Great to be able to interact and get to know them in person.

I sang 2 unheard worship songs I composed few years ago. One of it is among the first worship songs I composed and glad to hear it still speak so much to people as it was in the past. The other was raw and even before the showcase, I re-arrange the melody of the song again. Oops, why did I decided to perform that song?

Overall, it was a great experience and a great encouragement to be there. Encouraged me as a Christian songwriter to write good songs for the Lord and see local Christian music impacting the community. I am convicted and hope to bring such message to wherever I go, starting with FCC.

11th Sept -

10th Anniversary of Sept 11 attacks. May God bless the world, may the peace of God reigns.

In weekend services, we invited a special guest named Vincent Liaw in conjuction with mooncake/mid-autumn festival. This person shared his experience of going to Hell and back. I been listening for 3 times and it's just amazed to think that this guy went through such experience which could honestly happen 1 in a million. You know that Hell and Heaven is real. Nothing to play-play about.

My housemate Wei Joo went to church which is good to know. Hope God will bring him more to church :D

Dinner with darling, Jackson and Huey Yue at this buffet at KL. They wanted to try the seafood.. the food was just okay but the dessert was awesome, man, should have save my stomach space for dessert instead!

And I gotta diet already.. almost every week makan besar...

12th Sept

Aunty Annie prepared lunch for mid-autumn festival = steamboat.

Day was alright till at night, I got food poisioning. What I vomitted, I realized it was my lunch. Aiks.

13th Sept

My day little affected by my food poisoning in the day before. Had this bad headache but Rev insisted I followed him all the way to Seremban to attend a funeral. It was suffering to having a bad headache through all the trip although I popped 2 panadols.

Fun thing was during funeral I didnt have headache. Once funeral was done, the headache return. Ironic uh..

Lunch was good, the family was kind to us. Other circumstances I would be appreciate and enjoy, just that in my sick state, I cant enjoy it well enough.

Reach KL at 230pm. I stayed till office hour ended 4pm. Went home to nap which made me feel better. Back to church for practice.. then skip futsal to preserve my body...

And after much time, TM NUT/Unifi finally is fixed for my internet line. Yes, new home is UNIFI-ed.. zzz.. took them long enough!

14th Sept

Afternoon, explore Empire and Subang Parade. Now both so happening o.. good la, nice places to hangout close by.

Night time, watch Nasi Lemak 2.0 with darling, Jackson, Huey Yue. Lame funny but it's a recommended watch for Malaysians because it's fun. Jokes might be little too dirty for public o digest but then that's what make Namewee famous and popular. I rate it 3.5/5

I watched at MBO in Subang Parade. Yes they have a cineplex there! That's why I say they so happening now...

1st Sept

Still boring holidays for me. Most friends wanna me are not around. Worse, my internet is not working, thanks TM NUT... lame bunch of people...

Anyway, afternoon went to meet my friend Justine at Bangsar Shopping centre. We dont know where to sit and eat and chat so endup just walk around randomly until tired...ya when tired, only sit on some random bench in the mall.

Dinner with Yapp, so hard to find things to eat when most things that you wanna eat is not open. So sad..!! After that, i admit i went back to office..... just to get internet line for entertainment and get some work done too.

2nd Sept

Because of boring holidays, it's feel good to be at office. How 'hardworking' can I be...

Traffic in KL recently so smooth, like I said earlier in previous blog.. o how I wish everyday like this..

Dinner with relatives. Had seafood... so ya, my darling probably be 'jealous' of me having seafood.

3rd Sept

A wedding took place again. This time the food is good, more than enough for everyone to eat.....except the lamb which turnout caused some people diarrhea, including me. Thank God i didnt lead worship tonight, I went toilet umpteen times...

Darling is back!! how happy I am.. ^^

4th Sept

Very long day Sunday for me... probably the diarrhea aftermath left me tired...

Alpha dinner is awesome! Well, it's last day of Alpha btw...
After that, sat with few people to plan for Christmas....meet till 1am... it's ironic to think that Christmas idea "came upon the midnight clear"...

5th Sept

Aftermath of all the weekend tiredness taken its toll on me today @@
Help darling to look for a new room since she wanted to move out from her current place..

Overall, was a good day, just for a moment a guy nearly spoil my day at night. Was parking near my darling's apartment, in a public parking then this guy came over and say it's private. Not to say I couldn't afford paying rm2 but there's no notice board or whatsoever says that payment is needed. Why would I give to such people? I promptly drove off.
Sometimes some people just want to find trouble, honestly I could feel it from his action and tone.. if I want to take it further.. he has no respect and rude. I rest my case. God gave me patience.. like I said, I just promptly drove off.

6th Sept

After worship practice, played futsal. Can you imagine there's 20 people responded to come and play? So ya, we have to take turns to go to the field to kick the ball. Scored one, few assist, towards the end I lost steam, till i badly gave away 2 goals.. -.-

7th Sept

Watched Smurfs with darling and Peter and Caroline. Surprisingly, a fun movie. Enjoyed it.

Our Papa Johns dinner was awesome.. how i miss eating it! Especially dipping into the garlic butter.

26th Aug

Wokeup early to send Darren and Sam Vun to airport as they going to UK for their Alpha attachment.

Day was good. At night, watched Cars 2 with darling at Summit.

Good Pixar movie but it's not as par as the high standards set by their previous movies like Toy Story 3, UP, Wall-E. Nevertheless, it's still an enjoyable movie which is good for family outing. In fact, the crowd we watch with, mostly were families...

7.5/10 for me.

Up early yet again, this time send darling to airport.

Was a long day, but duno why whole day feel tired and hungry all the time.

28th Aug

The highlight for me is watching MU trashing Arsenal 8-2. Watched at Pastor's house with few worship team members. Mickey's face was totally emo after watching the trashing.

Even though I poking fun a lot at them but inside I felt little pity for them. The Arsenal squad totally out of shape and totally get steamrolled by MU.

Simple Monday but was good all thanks to last night's win over Arsenal. I strap my MU bag proudly along with wearing MU jersey.

Watched Conan.. the Barbarian with Yapp, Ah Seng and Joyceline.

For me, just ok. Little regret watched in cinema, but perhaps I thought this is better than Arnold's version many years ago.

30th Aug

Still go office because morning there's a church wedding while at night there's a BM evangelistic meeting. In between, manage to go home to rest.

KL was quiet because of Hari Raya today. And that applies to both event. Am surprise not much people came for both. Really holiday mood..

Traffic-wise, I wish everyday is like that.. so smooth...

Meet parents and relatives at Marche for dinner. Too bad couldnt bring darling because she wants so much to go Marche again.

As always, Marche experience is enjoyable..

My uncle responded to my 'challenge' i put on FB where I want Durian cake. He got one.. and it was really durian-ful.

Accompany my darling to dine at Brussels with his relative.
I should have ordered something better than what I ordered which was pork. I thought pork in western theme restaurant taste better, I was wrong.. it taste like Chinese -.-

I should have went for my darling's lamb chop instead..

20th August -

Quite eventful if you ask me =D

Morning, visited Kevin Boey's new bakery shop :- Wheat Field. Happy for him to have his own shop. Great fellowship time there, apart from the sudden appearance of a traffic attendant that made all of us scramble to our cars. We thought weekend no need pay parking fees.. but we were wrong.. hahaha...

Evening :- Shine Like Stars concert.

Concert was good. Praise God. Had a great time..
Especially taking a mickey out of Mickey.. hahaha...
There were lots of obstacles heading towards the event but by the grace of God we managed to do it well. Recently had a post-montem review of the event, we believe we can do better next event.. so be excited people! :D
Overall, thank God for all who was involved - worship team, ushers, helpers, etc. You all make the event great.

For dinner, I had a cheap and low version of Kenny Rogers with Gracy drummergal.

It's called Chick stop, in front of Sunway College backgate.

1/4 chicken + soup + 2 side dish + lemon tea = RM 12. Okay la.. I rate it 6/10

Soup just tasteless. Other is still edible.

Night time, to be satisfied, play futsal at midnight. Probably mentally and physically tired, I think I didnt play well.

24th August :-

After lunch with darling, we explored Sunway Giza.

Our verdict? Like Bangsar village. With lots of eatery outlets.

Korean dinner with some worship team members. Was a great night but soured by the news knowing Ah Seng's car got involved in a hit-and-run incident.

25th August -

Aunty Annie's birthday today. She insisted to have her meal at Wong Kok. If you really ask me, is not my favourite eatery place.

I was right. Service was bad, especially we had some misunderstanding about the order. Food is not that nice. Enough said.

Trying to be happy with my chicken chop.

The awkward moment was when Aunty Annie went to pay and came back to our table, a group of girls start singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY.. she was surprised.. but actually they were singing for their friend. For a moment, all of us were shocked.. hahaha.. in the end, we still sang one for her.. hahaha.. it was awkward but super funny at the same time..

Well, it's Aunty Annie's birthday.. funny we eat at Wong Kok and sat at the same place 2 years ago.

So yup.. there's so far I wanna update before I forget the large bulk of week..

between batteries and battles

There's a saying that God won't give us problems so big that we ourselves can't handle.

Tuesday, I thought my day was fine and dandy.. then when I was about to have dinner with Gracy, I couldn't start my car. My worst nightmare occurred, my car battery died down.

I tried to savor whatever hope possible to start it but couldn't. Even though it's 7pm, I called my usual car mechanic and I don't blame him saying he is home but he said he will help me on the next day.

For a moment I just thought man I screwed up but think about, perhaps it's not as bad as I think. My car died down in front of church/office. So all I need to do is just push my car to the church for safety purpose which I did thanks to the help of some church members. Moreover, I have some cars to temporary borrow. Plus, I thought the battery died down at the right time where my cash flow is back to normal.

After practice, I thought my day was fine then Darren called me saying TNB suddenly cut our electricity. If you are in my shoes, one will think, can your day get any worst??

Apparently the previous tenant failed to settle his bill. But for once, TNB acted so quickly..mmm...

We endup overnight at church. Seriously. Anyway, thank God we still have a nice place to lay our head.

Next day, all this problem was solved in fact by morning. The house owner paid the elec bill and will settle with the previous tenant while my mechanic fixed my battery quickly in the morning.

All this comes down to the saying I earlier said. All this are simple examples of how God can take care of us and watch over us.

Phew.. thank You God.

Another lesson to learn :- actually that day we staff team went for house cleansing. If i gonna give some description, we chase evil spirits out. And if anything to goes by, probably it's a way "they" wanna get back at us. No, I not making things so spiritual or whatever but when you are involved in such things.. always get covering from God.

Prayer is always the powerful weapon! :D

justice league

I wrote this on Sunday night but couldnt upload due to TM NUT's super (slow) efficienent in fixing my new house internet problem.

Recently the word JUSTICE is always around my head.

I just came home from a conversation with friends about things around us...well, it's those conversations anyone would engaged into..

I admit when I was young, I thought only the 'powerful' and 'strong' should fight for justice. I always think why JUSTICE has to do with me. It should be for the bigger, elder people to worry... I should go on with my own life...

As I aged on and exposed to the "real world", I soon realized actually we need to step up to be the difference, not expecting someone to standup for us.

There are times, IF i was a very very emotional person, I would break down and cry to see some many injustice around me. The world, the nation, even in church. But I admit I put up a strong face and say God is in control.

I at times feel restless to see injustice and sometimes feel hopeless to know sometimes I seems powerless to do something about it. Why you may ask? perhaps I dont have the 'money' power, 'status' power, certain respect, limited resource.

The best one can do is pray.

I admit there are many entries I wrote in my blog to just express my unhapiness and restlessness about some injustice I see in the world, the nation, the church but right before I hit the send button, I withdrew myself and in few moments later, I delete that post.

Maybe I feel there's hope, a light in tunnel somewhere. Just have bigger faith than yesterday, just letting go, letting God. Maybe I overacting or retalitating.

But sometimes we need more than just saying "it's okay man" to really feel peace and okay. Each day I more convicted to stand up for the truth, stand up for justice. If I die, if I get fired, if I get thrown out from the country for doing so, well, let it be.

Think about it, Jesus is a good example for someone who stood up for justice. I know I can never be as awesome as what He did, but at least I want to be little by little be more like Him. He stood for justice against the Pharisees, the cruel society, the unfairness.

All for you and me and the rest of the world.

I asked myself and perhaps we should ask ourselves... will we able to make such stand if given chance?

Complaining among friends, being emotional on FB,Twitter,blogs won't move the world sometimes. He need to take action.

I dont need to wear my red underwear outside and a cape to standup for justice and peace but I want do what I can to see justice in wherever I will be. World, nation, church.

For the sake of the fun I wanted to had of following number by number, day by day...let me try to recall what happened..

From what I saw, I stopped at 6th day..

But seriously at this time, I cant recalled what I did for past few days.. hahaha.. I know it's lame to go on but let me try my best anyway...

On 6th and 7th daym mmm it's the weekend anyway.. haha..

But the food served on Alpha that night was very memorable. Western style with lasagna, hot dog, nuggets -- it was awesome!! Thumbs up to Marco and Douglas!

O, who can forget the night MU beat Man City in Community Shield. I literally jumped out from my seats when Nani scored the winner.. wait I said that on my 8.8 entry.. hahaha

Nothing much on 8th and 9th day of August... just work and work...

10th day -

Watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Was a good movie, rate it 8.5/10. It's a storyline that ask a question of morality.

Night time was 1st practice practicing for 20th concert..

11th day - took Sam and my gf for dinner at Asia Cafe and Snowflake. Happy she had her crab.. she loves seafood a lot!

12th day -lunch at me and my gf's fave fish head noodle. Even though it's a bad idea to travel on a Friday noon to such place for lunch, but the taste of the fish head noodles is just awesome..

13th day - Saturday... nothing much...

14th day - First match of EPL for MU.. a slim win over West Brom, not that convincing win compare to Man City last week, furthermore De Gea slips again.. omigo...

15th day and 16th day - Usual working day, nothing special...

17th day
Holiday.. but not applicable to me since my day off on Wednesday. DUH!

Went MidValley with gf and he thought morning was fine... we were soooo wrong. No car park. In the end, did the illegal thing of parking outside somewhere nearby.

Had lunch with Kelly and Yapp at some German bar called Brotzeiet, located next to Spaghetti grill. It was decent food, not so bad but not so great that you craved to be back there. Just edible and i rate it 7/10.

After send darling home, went to office to chill till 530pm as I promised some worship team members outing at Pasar Ramadan. Walked there, buy food there, got out from there just before the storm came. Haha.

So this is the aftermath... makan time!

Practice for 20th August again..

And today is 18th... err.. nothing much to say...

Phew.. i think there's all I can recall... pity my already-tired-stress mind.

Yea, all because preparing for the weekend. Concert and other work-related matters.

And sorry for this half baked sort of entry.. but should be enough to explain my August.

Perhaps I should have more random entry.. aha..

And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

We lived in a world full of despair and hopelessness. However, we all are called to be the light that brings blessing to the people around us.

That is the message we want to bring out in this concert.

Come 20th August, not just we get to know each other more, we get to know our God more and more and enjoy His goodness!

Btw, feel good after the weekend... weekend was great, the MU win over ManCity was like the icing on the cake. When Nani scored both goals, I literally jump out on my seats to just cheer.. it's that awesome feeling..

I guess it's easy to count August because 1st day of August which is a Monday starts on 1st August 2011.. therefore easy to count our days or keep track with it..err.. understand what i trying to say? Never mind..

1st day - Cancelled futsal plan allows me to spend more time with darling. Try this place at Pyramid, some fritters place.. the spagetti is yummy...

2nd day -

Church doing a canopy project..

It's tough but hope all goes well..

3rd day -
Here's the summary -- Watch Captain America + shop at Times Square/Sg Wang + walk at the infamous "longest pasar malam" in Malaysia.

Captain America, being a comic reading/Marvel-following fan, I thought this version was done well than previous CapAmerica movie attempts. Just that, perhaps the origin stories could bored anyone. Some ways, I prefer Thor.. but of course you can argue with me that Thor is a god while Cap is a superhuman.

I give 8/10. Spoilers... please please please stay back for the post-credit. You will never want to miss it!!

Finally get to walk at the infamous "longest pasar malam" in Malaysia. From distance looks long, after walking walking, you realized you can cover in the blink of an eye.. hahaha.. depend whether you have things to buy or not.

The walk probably be ruined by rain.. if not it will be nice walk..

All in all, nice spending time with darling :)

4th day - Nothing much but was in vocal class in bid to learn more. Then manage to get a deal to market my album overseas, hopely there's some fruits in it. And prepare work for next few months.

5th day-

Boss' birthday celebration/lunch with staff and senior citizen group.

And today I will be practicing with the BM WT, after a year I since last led worship there. Excited, yes I am...

That's all for the first 5 days of August...

Is it me feeling some people making the headlines lately are just bunch of clueless people? No need me mention more but God continue to watch over us! :D

Yes, i finally moved to a new home at USJ13..

I know most people who knows USJ/Sunway/Subang area well enough to say why I go so far? With all the insane jams especially. Well, do I have much choice at first?
Anyway.. seriously.. let me explain..

Let's start by saying the house PJS9 got little expensive, so does the area surrounding the PJS9 and office. The prices whether buying or renting have shot up.. just crazy these days living in Malaysia.

Now we narrow to the situation at PJS9, let me give a background about it. Almost a year ago, the owner wanted to increase the rent of the house. Darren particularly wasnt pleased with it. That actually prompted us to start searching for a better house. But out of the blue, the owner suffered a stroke, his wife told us they will not increase the house rent which was a blessing in disguise...

Till another bombshell was dropped beginning of the year..he wanted to sell the house. When I heard it, I was kinda disappointed because I kinda like the house considering it's near the office and Pyramid. Again, we start to search for house again... although people come and view the house, no news whether the house will be sold. We kinda understand the decision he took to sell it, well, paying off medical bills... but perhaps the house value was expensive, there was no news whether the house will be sold or not.

In such situation, we have act accordingly. We just cant wait and see. We know the house will be sold eventually but dont know when. In Darren's words :- "it's like waiting for Jesus' 2nd coming..we know it will happen, but dont know when." hahahaha.. but it's true...

I asked help from my aunty. During the past 6 months, I have view few houses but yet most houses does not make us keen on it... till we found the USJ13...

We found out it is a Christian owner, even to a point, it was used to host a small church. I take it as a good omen. Nearby there's quite some convenient stuff and quite cool there. The rent is quite cheap, overall, find the house is good. With that, we decided to take it.

So ya, lately been pre-occupied with planning the packing and all...everything was okay in short...

Look.. my room at PJS9 got emptier by each day...

Starting August will be staying there and hope things will workout well for me staying there..

Just pray for me, hope everything goes well.. =)

Reporting my week..

Monday, my poor batmobile got knocked at the back. Was a minor minor knock that the bumper came out abit. The guy was apologetic, hard to find drivers who admit their own mistake in KL. Most people would scold back even though they are wrong. Anyway, out of this, he paid me some cash to settle it.. I was cool with it...

Took time on Monday night to calm down my spirit and heart after all the hoo-haa(s) recently..

Tuesday, went to IKEA.. enjoyed the meal there. Food there getting over-rated. But their curry puff somehow didnt fail us..

Aunty Annie made this meal which supposely to be my lunch but end up being my dinner. Healthy oh..

For two days I had meals at ss19 Sri Melur, the famous place that has good Roti. Both occasion, people belanja me. Oh blessing :D

Managed to fix my car via DIY.. another blessing :D ...not needing to spend much...

Managed to configured my church sanctuary pc to dual-screen and introducing new system -- very happy with it. :D

Got confirmation to move house soon, happy but at the same time, little stressed about moving and packing...sorry have to move on from PJS9, it is a nice house but situation is just sad so we as housemates have to take matters into our own hands.

When started my week, I thought it was terrible after the Sunday mess but slowly I see God's blessing...

Never underestimate how God works and moves...

I pray brighter days ahead for me... August is dawning soon...

I seen human nature at its worse.

I have lots of things in mind. But after last night, I am upset that I see how people think of church and church workers. Made me question their motive and what is their mind.

I pray one day they see the truth and understand.

And I have moved out and hope not to revisit that situation again. Left me with some bad taste.

I think I been pretty pre-occupied lately till now only have time for my mid-july review..

The buzz on internet lately has been the BERSIH thing. As much how imperfect our Government has been, I dont like to spend most of my time critizing them and make fun of them.

That's why i dont like talking politics..

And spend most of my internet reading on transfer news..

Come on Sneijder.. are you coming??

Anyway, enough that, recently went to Sidney Mohede concert at DUMC. I was really refreshed and inspired by the worship and I learn a lot by being there, musically or spiritually.

Thank God how He spoke. That day has been a frustrating Friday but He turn it around and remind He is the centre of it all.

Lately been spending time, re-evaluating my mid-year, I thank God for everything so far and believe that's more to come. There were some regrets and some happy moments but all in all, it's experience of learning...

Apart from that, going to move to a new house soon, pretty excited but to move things and all been a mind-burden to me .. @@

Anyway, hope things goes well..

Lately, I been getting into Zuma's Revenge game, I know it's late for me to catch the fever but that game teach me about being fast, precise, accurate..

Been temporary 'single' coz my gf went back hometown for holidays.. cant wait to see her anyway soon... =)

why july

Hey peeps,

It's 7th month of the year, July and ya, 6 months of 2011 just passed you by...

So how's 6 months of 2011 been to you?

For me, there were things I am happy about and things I wished I could have done better.

I admit working under the new boss, well, now it's a bit better compared beginning of the year. Sometimes I find it hard to understand his style of doing things but slowly, through grace of God I able to cope with it. I mean, in any working environment, any boss that comes in always have its pro and cons. Besides, lots of ministry and activities running on, it's a good thing btw, church that is active is always a church that is growing and shining for God.

Been happy so far able to tour a bit and did some touches to new album. Hope things will work out find for my solo project. Being a solo artist in Malaysia, moreover a Christian artist here is not exactly a bed of roses lifestyle but I believe I coping well. There are times I asked why do I put myself through such "suffering" but time and time again, God reminded me that His grace is always sufficient and not giveup what He challenged me to do.

As Paul says in Philippians 4:13 -- "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength"

I always lived by this "motto" since young and perhaps it's good to always remind myself of this "motto" that I grew up with. Indeed, I can. With Him.

It's just ironically recently Pastor preached about Philippians and his preaching was about "secret of contentment". Well, any human being will ask, how can we be content with what we have??

Paul really live a life that is faithful and trust in God. I dont know how many of us can say we can live like Paul did. Imagine the misery he went through :- shipwreck, being thrown to jail, being stoned, being mocked, hungry -- all because of the Gospel/preaching the Good News. He is the one that said he can do things through Christ, because he knows he has everything in God when we give up everything else or when we dont have everything. Understand?

That is how content is he in Christ.

I try to take him as example. I am working fulltime and sometimes, it's no bed of roses environment. I struggle sometimes, till I admit sometimes I want to concede defeat. But if I m so blinded by my defeat, I dont see the victory that God Himself have claim for me. So what I have to do...?? Trust Him.

I learning that everyday. Human in me always struggle but the other part of me still want to run the good race for God.

With 2nd half of 2011 running, I hope to finish the 2011 race well.

There's much more I want to review about 1st half of 2011, I realized this slowly turning into a long long blog... oops... hahahaha... maybe next time, spare you guys the misery of boring long entry...

movie diet

There is so much great movies around till my pocket hurts but left my heart satisfied..

Kungfu Panda 2

I admit when I first heard of KP2, I was skeptical about it as I was thinking, what more can you tell about this Panda...

I was wrong. A really good family movie, touching and funny at the same time.

Enjoy it and I rate it 8/10

Spoiler... they tease for follow-up. Oops, I was wrong again about Panda.

Pirates of The Caribbean 4

Again, how much can you tell from Mr Sparrow's adventure. It's just okay-okay for me, probably it lose its steam after POTC3.

Ranting : 6/10

X-Men : 1st Class

Indeed, thought it is really first class, a class above the other 4 X-Men movies that were out so far. Interesting note that one of my friend Matt did animation on the movies, kudos to you bro, proud of you.

Ranting : 9/10

Green Lantern

I been reading lots of critics that kinda brush this movie aside. But seriously guys, how can you compare this movie to any other movies that came out recently especially Thor and X-Men:1st class? Moreover, thanks to tech advancement, producers able to put up such movie, so credit should be given due.

Storyline-wise is much to be desired, script could have been written better. Sometimes some scenes feel very choppy.

All in all, I enjoyed the movie.

Transformers 3

All to say, this is way better than previous TF movie.

People been ranting about the missing "Fox" and the new Brit chick. Seriously I dont care, because for me, I just want to watch some big smackdown between the two groups of alien-bots.

Action sequences were just awesome... typical Michael Bay but all to say, I applaud him for making the improvement better than the previous 2..yes even wayyyy better than TF2..phew he erase the nightmare of TF2...

Somehow feel like watching it again but nah, I wait for the DVD then.. :P
I admit I am a big TF fan, watching it since a little boy, so I give a thumbs up for this.

The some shortcomings are some wooden acting from some human characters and plotline-holes. But nah, we are there to watch robots!!

Ranting : 8/10

INFUSE-d JUNE-nals

Yes, over the weekend was invited to be at INFUSE, FGA youth service on Saturday night..

The journey started on 8pm Friday night. Reached Ipoh at 1030pm. Greeted by the INFUSE crew and we together went for supper.

Without fail, each time I m at Ipoh, I love to visit Tong Sui Kai for the mixed fruit ice :D

Saturday morning, basically we have half day free. So...

Dim Sum for breakfast..

Then hunt for biscuits, ti-bits to bring back to KL...

Lunch at 1230pm...

Hangout at Coffee Bean....

We soundchecked at 4pm. After that, we rest and get prepared for the night..

The night went well and really a throwback to my years when I was leading worship at YF days, young at heart but very fired up for God. I love crowd like these, really hope more youths are like them. As young and small they are but they have a great and big heart for God...

I believe God really did great things in their lives.

As a band, we really didnt expect much but let God take control. I admit the soundcheck didnt sound perfect as we wanted but I thank God we all poured our hearts out and then we commit everything to the Lord, trusting He will take control. Indeed He did :)

The whole experience was simple and humble but at the same time, it was enjoyable. I was great to really spend time worshiping together with young people of INFUSE.

Supper followed after that.

Cant really thank them INFUSE for their great hospitality. They provided us a good place to stay and meals to enjoy. Thanks Matthew Dass, Joel, Vil Sern, Thean Seng and the rest of the INFUSE crew.

Sunday, we were at SPC, so happen that they are celebrating their anniversary. After lunch, we journey back to KL... arriving safely.

All in all, I thank God for such simple journey which taught us well, most of all, I thank God for the opportunity to ministry to young hearts who were on fire for God.

There will be more, let see how, let God leads =)

TL @ Infuse Encounter Night 230611

Just came back from Ipoh..

Was at Infuse's Encounter Night, leading worship and singing some of my songs there. All in all, had a great time there, the crowd was really pumped to give their all and hearts out to God. I believe God really did something in their hearts. It's a great joy to be spending time together praising His name.

It was simple and humble experience for us, most of all, we are really blessed by the hospitality of INFUSE. Lots of good food outing with them. haha. May God bless this ministry as they shine for God.
